ICARO Exhibition virtual tour

"The exhibition hosted in collaboration with the Benaki Museum and the Museum of Modern Greek Art in Rhodes includes the unique collection of ceramics by Giannos Th. Ioannidis. The exhibition was co-organized by the Region of South Aegean, the Ministry of Culture, the Benaki Museum and the Municipality of Rhodes. ICARO ceramics was founded by the Italians on December 19, 1928, as part of an ambitious plan for the industrialization and development of the Dodecanese and ceased to exist in 1988, when it was renamed IKAROS by businessman K. Hatzikonstantis, who became the owner. It has been closely associated with the local community, through the absorption of a significant workforce, but also through the production of products, which are typical examples of domestic industrial production over the last century."
