An assortment of shops, taverns, bars and restaurants can be found around the hotels and apartments. Its exquisite beach can be breezy, but is an ideal place for windsurfers.
The traditional way of life is still widely practiced in the village itself, and you should expect a very warm welcome from the friendly people living there. You should not omit visiting the picturesque church of Agios Spiridonas, with its lovely whitewashed belfry. The old centre of Tholos is built in traditional Rhodian style. With tall shuttered buildings and narrow streets, Tholos (Theologos) village in Rhodes is a delight to wander through.
Ialyssos (Ialysos) beach is one of the most highly organized beaches on Rhodes, and many hotels are located in this area. Like Ixia beach, it is partly pebbly, and very popular to windsurfers as it is mostly windy and wavy as well.

Plimmiri beach (or Plymmiri beach) is on the southeast side of the island, about 70 km south of Rhodes Town. This area is not heavily developed yet.

Soroni is a small village on the northwest coast of the island of Rhodes. The most popular religious festival on the island is held here at the chapel Aghios Soulas, which is located outside the village, every 29th and 30th of July, which is chapels saints day.
