It's winter. You are sitting in your apartment or office, while it's cold outside and the weather is gray, dark and rainy, and you find yourself reading this article. Don't you wish you can go someplace where the winter weather is not necessarily so depressive?
Most visitors have visited Rhodes only during summer. What a shame! they don't know what they are missing.
Even in winter, Rhodes offers mostly good weather and clear blue skies. Visit central Rhodes and walk through pine forests with fragrant fresh air and lush greenery. Or take a walk on the seaside enjoying the fresh winter sea breeze, listening to the sound of the waves while gazing at the endless sea. It does not matter. Nature is most enjoyable right now. When the heat waves have gone, the streets are empty of cars and the beaches are only visited by the few winter swimmers.
The few tavernas, restaurants and cafeterias that remain open, freed from the rush caused by the hordes of tourists during high season, offer even higher quality products and a warm, relaxed and friendly ambience. After your nature walk, take your time to enjoy a warm drink or to eat a local specialty next to the fireplace, accompanied by that excellent local wine.
For the ones that live in Rhodes, winter is magical. It is the time of year where everybody reduces pace, finding the time to appreciate the blessed place they live in, spending time with family and friends, charging batteries for the next summer season.
