The largest church in the village is dedicated to Saint George and here one is able to see some beautiful frescoes. It is to be noted that the name Malona originates from the ancient word “Mileon” which means a place with fruits. The village itself is, still to this day, untouched by tourism and remains a traditional village with friendly locals.
Kattavia is an attractive farming village with a few old houses and a picturesque village square. It is popular with surfers since Kattavia is the village closest to Prasonisi, so it is no wonder that the few rooms available for rent are usually occupied by them.

The hotel is on mount Profitis Elias (Prophet Elias), near the Byzantine monastery with the same name. It comprises two buildings, a three-storeyed one, "Elafos" and a two-storeyed one, "Elafina", both with a basement and a high pitched wooden roof.
