It is a small picturesque village with a total of 504 inhabitants, mainly involved in the agricultural industry. The tranquillity of the village of Pylona and the surrounding Olive Grove drenched mountains surrounding the village makes it one of the most unspoiled villages on the island.
Its short distance from Lindos (a mere 5 kilometers) makes it an ideal place to relax and the perfect base to explore the surrounding villages of Lardos, Kalathos and the area of Vlycha.
The churches of Pylona village, as well as many local monuments, were ruined by a major earthquake which struck in 1926. Today, there still stands the beautiful church of St. Nicholas and further on, the church of Evangelism, featuring Byzantine frescoes.
Tilos is an island with marvelous sandy beaches, full of springs and streams and Genoan towers. Tourists are still few. Tilos is situated between the islands of Nysiros and Halki, at a distance of 290 nautical miles from the port of Pereaus. It has an area of 64 square kms and a coastline of 63 kms. The ground is rocky with the only exception being a small fertile valley found almost at the center of the island and which ends up on the idyllic, one kilometer long, sandy beach of Erystou.

Soroni is a beach with clear and fresh waters, and is one of the more popular beaches for windsurfing. It is pebbly and the sea is usually slightly wavy, and a constant wind or strong breeze will ease the heat during the day.

The hotel is on mount Profitis Elias (Prophet Elias), near the Byzantine monastery with the same name. It comprises two buildings, a three-storeyed one, "Elafos" and a two-storeyed one, "Elafina", both with a basement and a high pitched wooden roof.
