This is not a village you visit to see picturesque buildings or beautiful landscape, but to eat well and have a great time in a friendly atmosphere.

It doesn't matter how late in the evening you arrive in Maritsa - the place will still be buzzing with life. The cafes and taverns will be full of people, the youngsters will be riding up and down on their motorcycles, lively discussions will be in progress in front of the stone-built houses with their tile roofs. The heart of the community is the village square, with the famous Masasoura restaurant preparing all kinds of meze. Every day crowds of people gather under the pergola - not only locals but also people coming all the way from the City of Rhodes to savor the delicious meze and finely cooked meat. After their meal, people move on to Esperino, the village club, to listen to rock or rembetico music. The atmosphere is always very vibrant: the villagers are renowned across the island for their love of good food and late nights. This is not a village you visit to see picturesque buildings or beautiful landscape, but to eat well and have a great time in a friendly atmosphere.

Maritsa is very beautiful and exciting. The night life is captivating, there are clubs like esperino and exodus in the village. There are also many tavernas like Velis, Oscarcene and many beautiful sites and little monasteriess to visit. Also hi above in the villiage you can walk to keroniati were the villiagers eat and drink and dance and sing island songs and breathe the fresh air and drink the coldest water which comes out of the mountain. The houses are beautiful and the little roads that run through the villiage where you can see the architechture and see the old people wave.
