Lindos
Lindos is definitely one of the must visit places if you are on Rhodes. It is superbly located and hobby photographers will live it! Those beautiful little white houses, the bright blue sky and the acropolis are simply a dream!
Fourni Beach
We visited Fourni beach in July 2019. I have to admit is was one of our most wonderful experiences. Not only because of the beach itself, which is wonderful, but also because of the whole trip to reach it. Before you reach the beach, you will pass the wonderful villages of Siana and Monolithos, both are a good place to enjoy a marvelous meal and shop for local delicacies - try the local Suma, wines and food - you will be pleasantly surprised! It was all so delicious! We then passed the castle of Monolithos - which is also on the way to the beach, where of course we stopped to visit and admire the majestic views - highly recommended! From there it is another good 15 minutes trip to the beach, which is one of the most wonderful we have visited on Rhodes. Fine sand, crystal waters, there is also a canteen to accommodate your needs. Some people were climbing on the high rocks to explore the area further which is not reachable by car, and others were camping in a little forest which is on the road right before you reach the beach. We are definitely coming back. This beach is a very good final destination if you are looking to make a day trip on this side of the island!
Monolithos
Monolithos is a wonderful village. We stopped there to take a rest from a long drive and found ourselves in a place where local products and spirits were sold, and everything was delightful. Just a few Kilometers down the road the castle of Monolithos is one of the main attractions of the island. If you like, you can also co further and pay a visit to the beautify Fournoi beach.
Tsambika Monastery
I visited Rhodes with my friend and we rented a car. One day driving we found a place where some busess were parking. We wanted to see the place and it was Tsampika monastery on the bottom of the hill. We did not know anything about the place and miracles, we only visited the church. I have bought a booklet about the history of the place in a little store by the church, where I have read about Our Lady of Tsampika. A year later I visited the place with another friend and we climbed the mountain and visited the chapel on the place where the icon was found. Because my oldest daughter had a very severe endometriosis and doctors said to her she had only 2% hope to have a child, I prayed for her in the chapel and wrote a prayer to the book there. After some time my daughter became pregnant and she finaly had a beautiful little girl who is 3 years old now. During few days she expects another baby! Thank you, Our Lady of Tsampika!
Ladiko Beach
Ladiko beach is one of my favorite beach in Rhodes!
Tsambika Monastery
We came to Rhodes for our honeymoon in May 2019...Through the help of our hotel they arranged for us to have our own chauffer and visit all the wonderful places, sights and landmarks in Greece... Tsambika monastery being one of many... when this beautiful place and its legend was told to us me & my husband jumped at the chance to visit... you see we had been trying to conceive for 10 years, absolutely trying everything... and still nothing happened for us... The experience was like nothing we had ever experienced, surrounded by the breath taking views was magical and very over whelming... I felt closeness to all of the mothers that had the same heart breaking difficulties of trying to concieve too... when saying our goodbyes before returning home I was still skeptical and did not hope too much as did not want to be disappointed again even though we were told we would visit again one day but holding our child... I smiled and only hoped this could ever be true....Exactly 6 mths months later to leaving the island I found out me & my husband was pregnant...we now have a beautiful precious son born on July 2020! We still pinch ourselves everyday that we are dreaming... When I had lost all hope of ever becoming a mummy, I truly believe this amazing place gave me and my husband our precious miracle...Looking forward to the day that we can visit again with our son soon!
Kastellorizo or Megisti
Beautiful! Amazing photos of waters and architecture. My father was born in Kastelorizo in 1900.
Prasonisi Beach
We have been to Prasonisi 2 years ago and are booked to come to Rhodes again in August! Cannot wait!
Seven Springs (Epta Piges)
I have to admit that we expected more, the area is very nice and quiet though and there is a nice little river. There is also a tunnel, which we did not know that you can walk through, so did not manage to see the waterfall. There is a restaurant right inside the nature where you can eat something. There are also peacocks and ducks, which are happy about bread (but not recommended as it is not their natural food). People with limited mobility will not find it easy to visit.
Kalavarda
Born in Kalavarda, raised in Australia. Kalavarda is a nice, quiet place to go and relax or visit Johny's tavern where his wife does the fresh cooking, or visit the little "pub" for something stronger to drink and possibly find decent company.
