Rhodes Rhodos Rodos Reviews Embona: A great village!open in new window
Posted on June 24, 2005 by Donna Soulakis
We visit Rhodes every year and always include a visit to Embona. We hiked up the mountain one year and never did make it to the top, (we ran out of time) also we bought a handmade authentic Embona costume for our grandaughter. We always eat dinner or lunch and the food is excellent. It's a great village. Our goal is to see the ancient village at the top of the mountain.
Rhodes Rhodos Rodos Reviews Koskinou: A great little village!open in new window
Posted on June 24, 2005 by Donna Soulakis
We stay in Koskinou every September in a traditional stone house, besides Yianni's there are several great places to eat. Fokatha is a modern looking place with not much atmosphere, but the best keftethes we have ever had, (except my mother-in-laws) all the locals eat there and that's always a good sign. Also George's right on the square makes great Greek meals, one night looking for a sweet he made my husband and I loukamades, they were to die for. It is a great little village and our neighbors are wonderful old ladies who make me feel like I belong there. The old part of the village is slowly giving way to newer homes and it will be a shame if someone in the local government doesn't get it to stop.

Rhodes Rhodos Rodos Reviews Afandou: Its Great!open in new window
Posted on May 30, 2005 by Elaine
I return to Afandou for the third time this year. This is the place to stay on the island, far enough away from Faliraki and a cheap bus ride to Rhodes town. The wee restaurants are marvellous and the lovely village atmosphere in the evenings is so friendly. The beach is never crowded and the water is as clear as a bell. Rent a car and it is easy to drive into the country. I will always come back to stay here, it's so easy, a real holiday.
Rhodes Rhodos Rodos Reviews Maritsa: Beautiful and excitingopen in new window
Posted on May 24, 2005 by stathis panos
Maritsa is very beautiful and exciting. The night life is captivating, there are clubs like esperino and exodus in the village. There are also many tavernas like Velis, Oscarcene and many beautiful sites and little monasteriess to visit. Also hi above in the villiage you can walk to keroniati were the villiagers eat and drink and dance and sing island songs and breathe the fresh air and drink the coldest water which comes out of the mountain. The houses are beautiful and the little roads that run through the villiage where you can see the architechture and see the old people wave.
