Rhodes Old Medieval Town
I hope to return to Rhodes to sample the wonderful atmosphere of the whole island. Poor health is preventing me at the moment but I hope that will improve.
Faliraki Beach
We were in Faliraki on a Family Vacation for 2 weeks beginning of September 2019. The weather was still very nice and warm, as was the ocean. There is a water park nearby, which was also very interesting and we had lot's of fun there with the kids. There is a small shopping complex on the main road, as there are also allot of restaurants and bars. It is also not far from Rhodes Town, just about 15 minutes by bus.
Haraki (Charaki)
Haraki is a very nice place to stay for a relaxing vacation. We felt welcome everywhere. The neighborhood is calm enough to enjoy a peaceful stay, but if you want some more action, Lindos is just a 15 minutes drive away.
Afandou Beach (Afantou)
Afandou is a lovely unspoiled beach with good restaurants along the shore and some nice canteens and a couple of bars. We would be happy to visit again next year. Maybe see you there!
Vlycha Beach (Vlicha)
The best beach warm clear sea banana bar is great lovely food lovely people
Butterfly Valley (Valley of Butterflies, Petaloudes)
Delightful cool tricky paths walk with care, just one type but once you have your eye in you will see many many glorious natural place.
Lindos Acropolis
Embonas (Emponas)
Very scenic part of the island and well worth a visit. Also the roads around this area are great for those who enjoy driving, lots of challenging corners and climbs and decents.
The castle of Kritinia (Kastellos)
I have been there twice and was just as thrilled if not more so the second time. The ruins of the castle in Kritinia, as visually captivating as they are, remind me that people can die taking selfies. Wear good shoes and be sober as a judge. Oh, and there is no admission but there is a quaint watering hole on the hillside where you park. Loved it!
