Agathi Beach, Rhodes

Agathi Beach is renowned for its gentle waters and pristine sandy shoreline. Along the path to the beach, visitors can take in the remarkable sights and explore the Medieval Castle of Feraclos (also known as Feraklos), adding an extra dimension to their experience.

Agathi Beach in Rhodes is a charming, sheltered spot with fine, damp sand and several canteens that provide visitors with necessary food and refreshments. This peaceful and inviting beach is an excellent place for a relaxing day out. The beach's only signs of civilization are the canteens that offer everything you need to make your visit comfortable.

On the right-hand side of the beach, visitors can explore the fascinating underwater rock formations along the coastline, which make it an ideal place for snorkeling. At the beach's end, there is a 700-800-year-old cave chapel with a white painted front. On the left side, there is a cave that is secured with grids, while on the right, some rooms are built into the rock.

While some believe that camping is possible at this site, it is not allowed. However, visitors can still enjoy a night swim as Agathi beach boasts shallow warm waters and is mostly wind-protected, making it a perfect location for a refreshing dip after a long day.

To reach Agathi beach, visitors should follow the signs from Haraki, which takes around 5 minutes along a passable dirt road. On the way, visitors will come across the medieval castle of Feraclos, which is worth a visit.

The canteens at the beach rent out sunbeds, umbrellas, and have lavatories and showers, ensuring visitors have everything they need for a comfortable day out.

This year 2023 the beach has been ruined. over developed with expensive cabana sun beds. shops & other constructions. this was my favourite beach but I will not be going again

Agathi is a very beautiful beach with shallow crystal clear waters. Just right for families. But the commercial exploitation spoils the picture a bit.

A site of outstanding beauty, obviously of archaeological importance that is not mentioned anywhere! A friend suggested we look for Agathi beach and we were very surprised!
Crystal clear water, fine sand, organized with sunbeds, toilets and a lousy canteen! Surely the beach would be even better without the August crowds!

Agathi is an excellent sandy beach with organized sea that you enjoy from the first minute. Warm waters, it gets dark and you don't want to leave. There are many fish that swim with you. There are goats that go down to the sea. The only negative thing is that the road is dirt and you get dirt with the wind and the little bit that is paved is full with potholes. It would be nice if the town that owns the beach would look at it because it is excellent.

Out of all the places I've been this was my favorite beach. Breath taking. Turquoise clear water and clean sand. Plenty of sea life and lizards galore up on the rocks in the hills behind the beach. Good restaurants and tasty foods.

The best beach by far on Rhodes.
Do go & look at the little church carved into the rocks.

The tavernas offer more than just fast food
New toilets are along the beach having been constructed this past winter
Camping is NOT possible. It is illegal
There is no card phone on the beach

This is my perfect place, like no other. a drive down a dusty, winding road and then a breathtaking sight of turquoise clear waters set against a rocky background. Bathing in the very salty, clean, invigorating waters, peering back at the rocky, dusty backdrop of the surrounding landscape, taking time to capture the moment, wondering if I would ever be so fortunate to visit this place again, I saw three ducks waddling along the beach in the full heat of the August sunshine! This appeared very strange, but, seemingly went unnoticed by the few locals sitting in the canteen, peacefully dreaming away the afternoon. These memories will live with me forever...

AGATHI BEACH IS A BEAUTIFUL HAVEN. ALL THE OWNERS OF THE TAVERNAS ARE VERY FRIENDLY,OFFERING A GOOD CHOICE OF FOOD. WITH ITS SHALLOW WATERS, CHILDREN CAN SAFELY PLAY BY THE THE WATERS EDGE. WE HAVE BEEN TO HARAKI 11 TIMES SO FAR AND RETURNING AGAIN IN MAY 07!!

A beautiful, exhilarating beach with emerald green shallow warm waters. My kids loved it here. We loved it so much we've booked again and are coming here again in July 2007.
