Three Greek islands - Crete, Kos, and Rhodes - are among the top autumn destinations for German travelers, according to TUI Germany. As seaside holidays gain popularity, these islands have extended their tourist seasons, with bookings expected to continue through November.
Crete and Kos rank third and fourth among TUI’s most popular destinations, while Rhodes holds seventh place. Leading the list is Antalya, Turkey, followed by Mallorca, Spain. Hurghada in Egypt rounds out the top five.
TUI Germany managing director Stefan Baumert noted that Turkey is particularly appealing to families due to its warm weather and great value for money. This autumn could see record-breaking demand for holidays, with TUI offering 75,000 additional packages following FTI's market withdrawal.
TUI is further boosting tourism by extending the season in Greece. The company has launched 65 extra flights, offering 12,300 additional seats through TUI Fly. Crete’s season will now continue until 23 November, with 39 extra flights, while Rhodes and Kos also see extended seasons. Other extended destinations include Dalaman, Djerba, and Enfida-Hammamet.
Baumert also highlighted “significant growth” in major Mediterranean destinations like Turkey, Greece, and Spain, with more airline seats and hotel availability added for Egypt as well.
